Job Description
We are looking for a Subcontracts Specialist/Engineer to join our team at our Aberdeen or Zoetermeer office on a full time, 12 month Fixed Term or Contractor basis.
Join our Seaway7 Supply Chain Management Department, a team of over 70 professionals working on major offshore wind projects worldwide. As a Subcontracts Specialist/Engineer, you will collaborate within a project team, tasked with identifying effective solutions to manage substantial subcontracted packages valued in the millions.
In the SCM Project & Tender Group, you will handle offshore wind tenders and projects, ensuring that the required products and services are available on budget, on time, and meet our standards. You will work with our category management and procurement teams to meet all project needs, including vessel chartering, foundations fabrication and transport, subsea power cables manufacturing, Subsea Rock Installation, trenching services etc.
We are open to a variety of profiles and backgrounds and are looking for technical / commercial / contractual experienced professionals.
What will you be doing?
- Defines procurement strategy in co-operation with internal stakeholders and specialist disciplines across tenders and projects.
- Manages mid-to-high complexity transactions with direct cost impact.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, HSEQ and Planning.
- Keeps strategy and project procurement plan up to date.
- Obtains quotes and conducts commercial evaluations, aiming to identify best economical solutions for relevant business needs.
- Performs commercial analyses; normalises and evaluates bids received. Incorporates technical evaluations from disciplines like Engineering, Planning, QHSE, Contracts / Legal, etc.
- Conducts supplier negotiations and commercial evaluations.
- Finalises the bid summary, makes recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Finalises all subcontract documents for signature by authorised signatory.
- Manages supplier relationships; schedules meetings with regular suppliers to manage expectations and align business interests.
- Reviews supplier's invoices and the final accounts.
- Finalises subcontract close-out obtains relevant documentation from suppliers and, where relevant, obtains as-built documentation.
- Initiates and participates in supplier performance evaluations and populates lessons learned reports.
- Works according to Seaway7 Business Management System and SCM tools.
- Operates in accordance with Seaway 7 Business Code of Conduct.
- Safeguards compliance with company policies, objectives, environmental impact, safety and customer requirements.
What experience would we like you to have?
- As a minimum, bachelor level in a technical, commercial or legal discipline
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication and negotiation strategies
- Exhibiting a strong understanding of market dynamics
- High degree of diligence during day-to-day business
- 1 -4 years relevant working experience
- Willing to travel from time to time.
- A resourceful individual who engages effectively with diverse groups
