The Role
At Matrix Renewables, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Operations team as an Asset Management Manager. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the optimal technical and economic performance of renewable energy projects in line with the company's business objectives. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Asset Management Manager will coordinate in-house and external teams, oversee asset management processes, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, service providers, and contractors. This role requires proactive engagement to safeguard Matrix's interests and continuous improvement of operational practices.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute asset management activities for the assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with company goals and KPIs.
- Monitor and supervise O&M activities to maximize generation revenues and reduce operational costs.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve asset management processes, tools, and best practices.
- Support the implementation of new technologies to optimize performance and reduce operating expenses.
- Lead reporting activities for operational assets to management, stakeholders, and financing entities.
- Monitor participation in energy markets, ensuring compliance with forecasting, daily offers, guarantees, and communication requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) and ESG policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Acquire and validate settlement data for projects; ensure timely invoice validation and payment processing.
- Manage and resolve settlement disputes with commercial counterparties, including utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and balancing authorities.
- Maintain strong relationships with equipment providers, O&M contractors, service suppliers, and other relevant actors to ensure asset performance and supply chain efficiency.
- Liaise with Finance and Market departments to support accounting, treasury, and lender relations.
- Represent Matrix in front of local stakeholders, authorities, and communities when required.
- Contribute to P&L accountability for assigned projects and assist in budget planning and cost control.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy asset management or operations.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy plant construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Experience managing contractors and service providers, including contract negotiation and compliance.
- Familiarity with energy market processes (forecasting, daily offers, settlements) is desirable.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
