Position Summary

The Technical Solutions Manager - Integration, EMS & Digital Transformation plays a central role in enabling seamless operation across e-STORAGE's BESS platform by owning EMS deployment, system integration programs, internal tool development, and workflow automation.

This role manages the end-to-end lifecycle of EMS products (internally developed and third-party), supports project and product integration across global teams, and leads the digital transformation initiatives that streamline engineering workflows, knowledge sharing, and modeling capabilities.

The position works closely with engineering, R&D, applications, execution, and vendor partners to ensure EMS readiness, integration quality, and continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and data insights needed to support competitive, bankable solutions.

Responsibilities

Integration & EMS Product Ownership

  • Lead technical due diligence, qualification, and deployment readiness of EMS products across applicable markets and projects.
  • Oversee the portfolio of EMS offerings (existing platforms + regional options), including features, roadmap alignment, and integration requirements.
  • Drive integration system-level integration across Battery, PCS, EMS products
  • Develop and maintain technical product requirements, interface definitions, and validation strategies in collaboration with R&D and software teams.
  • Monitor evolving grid codes, communication standards, and cybersecurity expectations; assess implications for EMS functionality and integration logic.
  • Maintain full traceability of EMS specifications, release notes, certifications, integration issues, and deployment readiness.
  • Lead development of internal modeling tools related to degradation, system operation, and long-term performance forecasting; connect R&D test data with contract-ready models and performance guarantees.

Solution Development & Applications Support

  • Collaborate with engineering, BD, and execution teams to shape solution architecture where EMS and integration logic are core enablers.
  • Research market requirements, customer use-cases, and competitive EMS/integration capabilities; translate insights into actionable product or roadmap proposals.
  • Present solution proposals to internal stakeholders to gain alignment in TRB/PRB cycles.
  • Act as the internal advocate for system-level behavior, customer operational requirements, and integration constraints.
  • Communicate EMS and system integration behaviors to applications, BD, and execution teams through training, documentation, and solution guides.
  • Prepare solution-level technical content (architecture diagrams, workflows, operational sequences, competitive comparisons).
  • Validate and contribute technical content for datasheets, brochures, white papers, and marketing material.
  • Ensure modeling outputs (degradation, dispatch logic, operational strategies) are consistent with commercial assumptions and customer communications.

Internal Program Leadership & Supply Support

  • Lead internal programs that strengthen product competitiveness, including digital transformation initiatives, workflow automation, internal tool development, and knowledge management.
  • Drive competitive analysis programs with Applications/BD teams to benchmark system-level capabilities against market peers; translate findings into roadmap recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain internal dashboards, documentation systems, and collaboration frameworks to improve execution efficiency and transparency across global teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional progress tracking for integration readiness, EMS deployment, modeling improvements, and other strategic technical programs.
  • Ensure supply readiness by aligning technical requirements, documentation, and validation criteria with procurement, QA, and manufacturing partners.
  • Support supplier onboarding and periodic technical reviews by confirming product readiness, testing alignment, and cross-team knowledge transfer.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Controls/Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related technical field; postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with EMS, controls, system integration, modeling, or digital engineering in energy storage or power systems.
  • Strong understanding of BESS architecture (Battery + PCS + EMS + SCADA) and system control strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with integration testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of multi-component systems.
  • Familiarity with key communication standards (Modbus TCP, IEC 61850, DNP3, IEEE 2030.5, SunSpec, OPC UA).
  • Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or automation workflows (Python, MATLAB, scripting, low-code automation, data pipelines).
  • Ability to work effectively across global teams; Mandarin proficiency preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%).
