New Energy Nexus (NEX) is an international not-for-profit organization that supports clean energy entrepreneurs with funds, accelerators and networks. We started in California and have expanded operations into China, India, Southeast Asia, East and West Africa, UAE and Australia. Our mission is to support diverse entrepreneurs to drive innovation and build equity in the global clean energy economy.
Our goal is to support 100,000 startups to succeed by 2030 - a decisive decade to surface and support as many climate solutions as possible. Through our global network, we directly boost hundreds of entrepreneurs annually while uplifting thousands more. Since 2004, New Energy Nexus has mobilized $3.7 billion in investment and supported over 1200 clean energy startups to date.
New Energy Nexus China provides business-matchmaking and consulting services for large corporations and start-ups to advance energy transition and carbon-neutrality goals. Since 2016, NEX China has supported the growth of 400+ innovative companies through programs such as the EXCEL Accelerator and the LG Energy Solution Battery Challenge.
Position Overview
Responsible for managing clean-energy and climate-technology projects implemented in China, maintaining and expanding existing cooperative relationships, and promoting the development of new business areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Based on the company's overall strategic direction, develop project implementation roadmaps; continuously optimize project design by collecting feedback from partners and clients and integrating team experience and industry insights.
- Translate project roadmaps into concrete, executable plans with clear milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Expand and maintain commercial and strategic cooperation networks, including utilities, corporations, think tanks, and innovation platforms.
- Support business development, strategic communications, and fundraising to advance projects from pilot stage to scale.
- Work closely with the Program Director to ensure project delivery aligns with funders' missions and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above; passionate about driving energy transition; proven experience designing and managing innovative projects in China and internationally.
- Entrepreneurial growth mindset; able to advance solutions quickly in fast-paced, information-scarce environments; strong learning and adaptability skills.
- Experience in accelerators/incubators, project management, impact investment, or related fields.
- Capable of integrating expert insights through independent research and external feedback to formulate practical project strategies and work plans with clear, measurable objectives.
- Skilled at collaborating across multidisciplinary, multicultural teams; excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Able to drive complex projects independently with high self-motivation and accountability.
- High integrity and professional ethics.
- Fluency in Chinese and English with outstanding written and oral communication skills; able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders such as investment funds, banks, academia, and regulatory bodies; all project reports and evaluations must be written in English, so English writing proficiency is essential.
