Job Description

As a role of IT Solution Engineer for HVDC Control & Protection system delivery, you will join an aspiring team that works with the HVDC Power transmission links. It is a diverse and collaborative job to be part of project group, with lots of responsibility and you will have great opportunities to develop your skills within HVDC. HVDC C&P department is responsible for delivering Control & Protection, OT/IT packages to project of HVDC System. The key responsibilities in the tender and project which includes contract specification review, prepare the technical specification, IT topology diagram, identify the risk and opportunities, factory system testing, FAT, coordination with site team for IT system commissioning, handover to service team, coordinating with internal & external stakeholders to able to deliver the complete IT solution to end client.

How you'll make an impact

  • You will support global & local projects by adapting HVDC cyber security in IT products, software in station control & monitoring system & HMI application, develop architecture & functional descriptions for functions / solutions for HVDC in cyber security technologies.
  • You will prepare & perform test case scenarios & participate in Factory system test in verify and validate, support projects in resolving the issues related to Cyber Security Functions.
  • You will coordinate with different stakeholders across the business units to get inputs to optimise the Cyber security solutions in HVDC, design & develop a secured network architecture for SCM system with advanced cyber security features.
  • You will evaluate and strengthen the security of any connections to the SCADA network, monitor and validate third party security patches to ensure that reliability of the system is maintained, implement the security features provided by device and system vendors. You will establish strong controls over any medium that is used as a backdoor into the SCADA network, implement internal and external intrusion detection systems in the SCM network.
  • You will perform technical audits of SCADA devices and networks, and any other connected networks, identify security concerns, conduct physical security surveys and assess all remote sites connected to the SCADA network to evaluate their security. You will maintain the test environment with updated software and hardware for current and future use.
  • You will be responsible for backup/ Image handling on servers and workstations and patch management.
  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in EEE, ECE, IT, CSE Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 to 10+ years of experience with a minimum knowledge in IT products, system configuration, networking & hardening scripts, standards.
  • You must have Knowledge & Skills in Networking, security, Anti-Virus, basic knowledge on IEEE/ IEC cyber security standards.
  • Knowledge & Experience in MS Office: Word, Excel.
  • Basic Knowledge on C/C++ is an added advantage.
  • Experience in SCADA projects will be an added advantage.
  • Self-starter calibre who could own tasks through to completion, strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
