Job Description
All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading construction contractor specialising in the energy and renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, storage, and hybrid facilities. Our core services comprise civil works, trenching, cable installation, electrical and mechanical installations, terminations, testing, commissioning (DC, LV, HV), operations support and maintenance expertise. Position Overview
AEC is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our Lancaster Solar Farm project in Victoria. This key leadership role will see you oversee and coordinate all electrical installation activities on site. You will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to quality standards, and in full compliance with Australian Standards and project requirements. Working closely with project engineers, site managers, and client representatives, you will play a vital role in driving progress, managing crews, and supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electrical crews, including electricians, technicians, and trade assistants.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and work packs, ensuring electrical installations are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 3000, 5033, 4777, and project requirements.
- Oversee installation of AC/DC cabling, terminations, switchgear, inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Lead daily pre-starts and toolbox talks, ensuring full compliance with WHS regulations and client HSE procedures.
- Prepare, review, and manage Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments, and permit-to-work documentation (HV access, hot works, confined space, etc.).
- Inspect and verify completed work for quality, compliance, and commissioning readiness.
- Support testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and HV/LV energisation.
- Track progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and escalate resourcing or scheduling issues as required.
- Ensure correct use, maintenance, and calibration of electrical tools and test equipment.
- Mentor apprentices and junior electricians, helping to develop workforce capability and foster a strong safety culture.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years' electrical industry experience, with a strong background in renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.
- Previous supervisory experience managing electrical crews on large-scale construction projects (solar, wind, HV substations preferred).
- Current Electrical Licence (essential).
- OHS Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Working at Heights, LVR/CPR & First Aid certifications.
- High Risk Work Licence (EWP).
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, technical documentation, and compliance standards.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
