Overview

The New Homes Builder Operations Manager (BOM) is a strategic operational leader responsible for the end-to-end health and velocity of the New Homes project pipeline. Serving as the primary technical and operational bridge between Sunrun, our builder partners, and installation teams, the BOM must be a high-level critical thinker who excels at navigating the complexities of solar production. This role owns the flow of projects from release to final inspection, proactively identifying systemic bottlenecks and deploying creative solutions before they impact construction schedules. As the authoritative point of contact, the BOM acts as a liaison for our builders and partners, translating solar milestones into actionable updates to ensure seamless site integration and high levels of trust.

Beyond daily execution, the BOM is a proactive problem-solver who utilizes data-driven insights to resolve "on-the-ground" operational hurdles, ensuring that quality and speed are never mutually exclusive. Success in this role requires a strong aptitude for change management and cross-functional collaboration, as the BOM regularly partners with Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations to drive process improvements and adapt to evolving business needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with New Homes Project Managers to oversee individual project fulfillment from job release to final inspection.
  • Act as a liaison to streamline communication between project teams, builders, and installing partners regarding construction schedules.
  • Obtain individual job releases from builders and initiate the New Home pipeline, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and standards.
  • Gather, process, and produce documentation as per lot within your community.
  • Monitor project flow across assigned builder communities, identifying and resolving issues that hinder timely and proper execution.
  • Manage individual projects in CRM and builder software platforms, ensuring accurate data entry and project updates.
  • Maintain and update project tracking tools for the New Homes team to support transparency and efficiency.
  • Interpret data and provide actionable insights to enhance performance and address operational challenges.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and coordination to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management or coordination experience in a fast-paced environment; solar and/or production building experience highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with builders, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on builder and homebuyer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, builder software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); Oracle experience a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic to drive quality and operational success.
  • Proven experience using critical thinking to solve complex problems, build processes, and define evolving role responsibilities.
