Job Description
Become a Manager of Vegetation Management Operations at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll oversee a team of Specialists and Senior Specialists and be responsible for vegetation compliance throughout the region. As a Manager of Vegetation Management Operations, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities
- Leads daily management and problem-solving initiatives to ensure adherence to standardized processes, identifies gaps in procedures, facilitates innovative solutions, and directs emergency storm work response efforts as needed on a 24/7 basis.
- Acts as the Authorized Edison Representative (AER) for Safety Tier 1 High Risk contractors and manages contractor performance through scorecard metrics, control stage process, review of contractor corrective action plans, and evaluation of safety/environmental incidents.
- Leads the development, testing and implementation of new technologies accordingly to the vegetation management program.
- Manages the program work scope planning and scheduling, collaborating with vegetation services providers to ensure budget, schedule and quality performance objectives are met.
- Provides program management, oversight and quality control of the vegetation management program to ensure a high level of system reliability.
- Develops organizational capabilities through talent planning, mentorship and coaching that support diversity and inclusion (Recruitment, Talent Development and Employee Engagement).
- Develops an area vegetation maintenance program, including the development of processes and resources, and trains operations personnel on its implementation.
- Creates and manages project budgets, reforecasting monthly, and standardizes contract and vendor performance management to ensure consistent evaluation and engagement across all suppliers.
- Serves as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert on utility vegetation management programs and regulations and represents SCE VM to OU partners, the public/homeowners and County, City, and state/federal agencies.
- Creates and maintains a physically and psychologically safe work environment.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of combined experience performing vegetation/forestry management or supervising an organization, unit or group.
- Experience in providing safety, environmental compliance, and quality oversight to contract workforce.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, arboriculture, business, or a related field.
- Certification as an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist.
- Experience with CPUC General Order 95, Rule 35, Public Resource Code 4292 & 4293 and environmental habitat regulations.
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
