In this job, you'll contribute to developing apparatus specification and standardization, provide technical expertise in Distribution and Transmission assets, lead pilot projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders from operations, planning, and field hands to assess risk and operational impacts, guide technology adoption, and translate strategic objectives into actionable standards to support strategic initiatives, grid reliability and safety. Responsibilities
- Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups.
- Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
- Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
- Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases.
- Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings.
- Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.
- Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
- Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced degree in Engineering.
- Experience with asset management.
- Experience evaluating asset management data and determining root cause analysis
- Experience modeling wire and cable ampacity ratings
- Experience with apparatus, standards, system studies.
- Experience mitigating issues to develop and implement changes as appropriate.
- Experience integrating work across relevant areas, developing the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, managing risks appropriately, developing and executing business plans,
- Experience with resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Experience presenting complex concepts and obtaining support/buy-in from technical staff, management, and senior leadership
- Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
