Job Description
The purpose of the Rope Access Technician role is to repair and maintain or inspect wind turbine components (such as blades, towers, structures) through the Rope Access method using IRATA standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand rope access methodology, blade repair, and use of chemicals, and platform.
- Siemens Experience with profile
- Execution of required WTG work (preassembly, installation, etc.)
- Understand and memorize mix ratios for all blade repair chemicals
- Proficient operation and use of tools (power, hydraulic, diagnostic and specialized)
- Proficient operation and use of composites and car body works such as grinding exp.
- Perform all work following GWS safety protocols and procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
- Attending site induction and other requested site meetings held by the client or GWS
- Work according to the safety regulations
- Reporting all near-miss accidents, incidents, and accidents immediately to the Site Manager
- Participating in training and education, as required by the Site Manager or the client
- Use all working equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Perform required maintenance of all tools and equipment on site
- Keep work place neat and orderly to prevent accidents and inefficiencies
- Meet weekly reporting deadlines of work hours, work progress reports and travel reports
- Flexibility to travel extensively to training or job sites
- Flexibility to work overtime hours on weekly basis including weekends
- Understand and perform lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) duties safely and efficiently is a plus
Working Conditions and Environment
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit

Requirements
US CITIZENSHIP OR US WORK AUTHORIZATION IS A REQUIREMENT FOR THIS POSITION.
- IRATA Level 1, 2, or 3 certification
- MUST have experience in blade repair, rope access, platforms OR have GWO or similar certification in blade repair
- Pre-employment background check and drug test
- Valid driver license and acceptable MVR
- Ability to climb towers, 300 ft or higher, on a daily basis, several times per day
- Per safety regulations and equipment safety limits, must weigh less than 265 pounds (120 kg)
- Must be able to pass head, nose, throat, hearing, vision, and color blindness checks
Experience & Qualifications
- Current GWO certifications
- Understand how to perform complex blade repairs
- Perform inspections and damage assessments
- OEM blade repairs
- Blade balancing
