Job Description

The ALM Business Architect will play a pivotal role in the successful introduction of a Digital Thread and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) capability across the organisation.

This role is responsible for understanding, structuring, and translating complex business needs into clear requirements and architectural direction for IT, ensuring strong alignment between business objectives and technical implementation.

Acting as a key connector between business and IT, the Business Architect will drive collaboration, clarity, and shared ownership across functions, supporting the organisation's digital and operational transformation journey.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, challenges, and opportunities
  • Analyse current processes, systems, and ways of working to identify gaps and improvement areas
  • Translate business needs into structured, actionable requirements for IT and architecture teams
  • Support the design and rollout of an end-to-end Digital Thread capability
  • Partner closely with IT to ensure ALM implementation aligns with business priorities
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to drive alignment, clarity, and shared understanding
  • Contribute to defining future state capabilities, governance frameworks, and operating models
  • Promote and enable stronger collaboration across teams, functions, and disciplines
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders navigate complexity and change

Our requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Business Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Senior Business Analyst
  • Strong track record of translating business requirements into IT and architectural deliverables
  • Experience working on Digital Thread, ALM, PLM, or complex system integration initiatives
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and seniority levels
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without formal authority

Highly Desirable

  • Background in engineering, product development, or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of ALM tools and lifecycle management processes
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation programmes
