Job Description

What You'll Do

The Market Leader is an experienced professional within the electric utility industry focused on strategic business growth and development within the power market (specifically T&D engineering, substations, generator interconnections, power system studies, NERC compliance, grid modernization engineering). As a key business development team member, this individual delivers strong sales results in a competitive market, leveraging both business development skills and engineering experience. The Market Leader builds strong collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure the voice of Ulteig's clients is included in planning discussions and processes.

  • Develops and executes territory and account plans that deliver sales results and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborates in a team-based environment with internal and external individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Engages with the industry and communities to effectively represent Ulteig, enhance Ulteig's reputation and build high-impact and influential relationships with new and current clients.
  • Identifies and aggressively pursues opportunities with (new and existing) clients within the power market.
  • Drives project development and project launch, and facilitates initial implementation.
  • Leads integrated territory, account management and account planning for Ulteig's operation teams (technical services and field services).
  • Actively participates in Ulteig's business and revenue strategies.
  • Partners with marketing and communication team members to 1) review market research and competitive assessment information and incorporate it into planning work 2) ensure materials and information effectively capture the value proposition and is effective with clients.
  • Partners with proposal coordinators to deliver effective business proposals, interviews and presentations.
  • Works with technical team to identify and support the allocation of resources to projects and other business activities.
  • Maintains the integrity of the client and sales opportunity information.
  • Leads internal and external client meetings.
  • The ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, with a PE a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Technical Sales or Consulting Engineering field required.
  • Experience in power industry engineering design, engineering consulting, construction, and/or project management techniques and philosophies required.
  • An engineering background within a professional services firm is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical power markets.
  • Knowledge of public policy impacting electric utilities and energy markets is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in securing new clients.
  • Experience with developing strategies for market expansion.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies.
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and timelines.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with participating in conferences, exhibitions, and trade associations.
  • Customer Relationship Management software experience with D365 CRM, Salesforce, including Power BI desired.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the US.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $130,400 - $176,500
Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
