Job Description

Encore Renewable Energy is a leading integrated clean energy services company headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, focused on developing, building, owning and operating sustainable, high return community-scale solar PV systems, large scale energy storage applications and 21st century solutions for the redevelopment of underutilized property.

Encore is a dynamic, high-growth, team-oriented, entrepreneurial company. We are a group of colleagues committed to the triple bottom line of people, planet, profit, and are willing to take on responsibilities outside of our comfort zone. We hope you are too!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing asset management team. In this role, you will be a key member of the team managing the performance, operations, data systems, and optimization of our PV and BESS assets. This role will primarily act in the day-to-day operations of technical asset management, and will report to the Director of Asset Management. This position will have a heavy focus on managing data through technical systems, SCADA, monitoring portals, APIs, and VPN access/networking systems. In addition, you will be involved in strategic planning relating to the operations of our assets; work closely with our accounting team as it relates to the intersection of operational and financial performance; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making, maximize asset performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to rapidly grow a career in the solar and storage industry.

Your responsibilities

  • Technical lead for hardware and software related to project data acquisition and monitoring systems
  • Primary point of contact for monitoring hardware and software vendors
  • DAS hardware drawings and specification reviews and approval
  • Monitor and manage the performance of PV and BESS assets to ensure operational efficiency and optimize asset performance
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships for ongoing operations and maintenance services, including preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring contract adherence and uptime
  • Support with landowner relationships and associated leases as needed
  • Support with ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements regarding PV and BESS assets, as needed
  • Track equipment warranties and compliance
  • Drive asset performance analytics, root-cause investigations, and loss assessments
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders and maintain performance dashboards
  • Monitor DAS/SCADA platforms, utilizing API integrations with CMMS and ticketing systems
  • Manage VPN and remote access systems; oversee asset-level communications, data integrity, and cybersecurity
  • Collaborate on safety incident reporting, emergency planning, and compliance tracking
  • Lead BESS performance monitoring and diagnostics (Roundtrip efficiency, throughput, degradation tracking, and cycle analysis)
  • Manage BESS dispatch requests, monitoring system trends and anomalies
  • Support optimization opportunities, repowering, and end-of-life considerations and logistics for PV and BESS systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making, maximize asset performance, and ensure regulatory compliance

Your experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an asset management related role within the PV, commercial battery energy storage or similar industry, with strong understanding of data collection systems, SCADA, monitoring, APIs and VPN networking systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CMMS software
  • Ability to read and interpret line diagrams, site plans, and data schematics
  • Ability to work across departments, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to personal learning, growth and development
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners - including land owners, AHJs, utilities, contractors, consultants, and others - to align on goals and share updates on asset performance
