Job Description
In our HQ in Ikast, as Senior Lead EMC Engineer in Product Test & Validation team, you will play a key role in preparing and executing type testing and validation of electrical product prototypes, with a strong focus on EMC testing (emissions and immunity). You will also support other type tests, troubleshoot compliance issues, and help improve testing processes and tools. In this role, you will ensure our products meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and test setups for EMC and electrical testing.
- Conduct pre-compliance and compliance testing in our EMC chamber and at accredited external laboratories.
- Operate and maintain EMC instrumentation, including spectrum analyzers, receivers, LISNs, CDNs, ESD guns, antennas, amplifiers, and EMI cells.
- Analyze failures, drive root-cause investigations, and recommend design mitigations such as shielding, filtering, grounding, and layout improvements.
- Supervise and perform in-house and external type testing, including fault analysis.
- Collaborate with design engineers to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
- Document test results, prepare detailed reports, and provide feedback for design improvements.
- Ensure product compliance with relevant standards and certifications.
- Lead the continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
- Support and guide stakeholders.
Our requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in EMC/EMI testing of industrial products or power electronics.
- Solid understanding of emissions and immunity mechanisms, as well as mitigation techniques such as filters, ferrites, shielding, and bonding.
- Proficiency in EMC measurement setups and uncertainty considerations, with the ability to create robust test plans.
- Working knowledge of PCB and assembly layout constraints, as well as cable routing for EMC.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations such as IEC 61000, CISPR 32 / EN 55032, and other EMC-related requirements.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret engineering documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures.
- Hands-on experience with test instrumentation.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards, quality standards, and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proactive and positive approach, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, adaptability and agility.
- Willingness to travel to other locations when necessary.
