Job Description

Solar Project PMO (Project Management Officer) is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of solar energy projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The PMO works closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Management

    • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, resource allocation, and risk management.
    • Lead project permitting process with support from different teams
    • Experience in EPC contractor selection, familiar with RfP process.
    • Experience in EPC contract / Engineering contract / Consulting contract negotiation
  2. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure clear communication of project goals.
    • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to update them on project status, address concerns, and manage expectations.
    • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.
  3. Resource Management

    • Coordinate with resource managers to allocate personnel, equipment, and materials effectively.
    • Manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and other specialists.
    • Monitor team performance and provide support and guidance to ensure successful project execution.
  4. Budget and Cost Control

    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
    • Track project expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
    • Prepare financial reports and forecasts to keep senior management informed of project financial status.
  5. Risk Management

    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen issues and minimize project disruptions.
  6. Quality Assurance

    • Ensure that all project activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications.
    • Implement corrective actions to resolve any issues impacting project quality.
  7. Reporting and Documentation

    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
    • Provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master's degree or PMP certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in renewable energy projects, preferably solar.
  • Experience in Project Construction Management
  • Qualification in Electric Engineer, Civil Engineer is preferred

Skills

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of solar energy systems, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards related to solar projects.
  • Good English communication skills

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, etc.).
  • Understand Low/Medium/High Voltage Single Line Diagram is preferred, or
  • Understand civil design
