Company Overview

ELyse Energy

Lyon, France

2020

Approximately 70 employees in France and the Iberian Peninsula (source: linkedin.com). Funding of 120 million euros in 2024 (source: linkedin.com).

What They Do

ELyse Energy specializes in the production of low-carbon molecules, essential for the energy transition, particularly targeting hard-to-decarbonize sectors. The company primarily produces synthetic kerosene, used as sustainable aviation fuel, and e-methanol, intended for maritime operators and the chemical industry (source: linkedin.com). Through advanced technologies such as electrolysis and carbon capture, Elyse Energy adopts a technology-neutral approach to electrolysis, choosing between proton exchange membrane (PEM) and alkaline systems based on the specific needs of projects (source: linkedin.com). The company is committed to supporting sectoral goals outlined in the European Green Deal by developing projects that address the decarbonization challenges in aviation, maritime transport, and chemistry.

Projects and Background

Among Elyse Energy's major projects, the eM-Rhône project stands out for its capacity to produce 150,000 tons of e-methanol per year, making it one of the most advanced initiatives in Europe in this field (source: linkedin.com). The BioTJet project, which aims to produce 82,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel per year, also illustrates the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions (source: linkedin.com). Additionally, Elyse Energy recently established a partnership with Lhyfe to develop an e-methanol production project in Montoir-de-Bretagne, with a production target of 150,000 tons per year by 2030 (source: linkedin.com).

Recent Developments

In December 2024, Elyse Energy announced the successful closing of a private equity funding round of 120 million euros, aimed at accelerating the development of advanced projects such as eM-Rhône and BioTJet (source: linkedin.com). In July 2024, the company also formed a partnership with Lhyfe to develop e-methanol projects, marking a significant expansion in maritime decarbonization (source: linkedin.com). Elyse Energy's recognition by the French Tech 2030 label highlights its commitment to innovation and the energy transition (source: linkedin.com).
