Become a Resource Management and Business Planning Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll develop the annual Capital and O&M workload plan, and subsequent monthly reconciliation and forecasting of work and resource needs for Substation Construction & Maintenance (SC&M) field crews. You'll also work with key stakeholders to intake and operationalize the execution of work related to key initiatives and corporate/organizational goals as required. As the Advisor, you'll also pay strict attention to detail and negotiation and influencing skills in ensuring accurate work scheduling, tracking, and completion. As a Resource Management and Business Planning Advisor, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities

  • Works with project managers and department heads to determine resource requirements; develops resource plans that align with project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Supports the acquisition of necessary resources, including human resources and materials; assists in managing vendor relationships and procurement processes.
  • Assists in allocating resources to projects, tasks, or teams based on established plans; collaborates with project managers to ensure timely and effective resource assignment.
  • Monitors and tracks resource utilization using project management tools or software; provides regular reports and insights on resource usage to stakeholders.
  • Participates in capacity planning activities to assess future resource demands; analyzes historical data and growth projections to anticipate resource needs.
  • Helps facilitate discussions to resolve conflicts related to resource allocation; supports stakeholders in negotiating compromises and finding equitable solutions.
  • Analyzes resource utilization data to identify patterns and inefficiencies; recommends process improvements and reallocation strategies to optimize resource use.
  • Assists in identifying and managing risks related to resource availability and allocation; supports the development of contingency plans to address potential resource constraints.
  • Collaborates with project managers, department heads, and external partners to gather resource requirements, provides updates on resource allocation, engages stakeholders in resource planning discussions and communicates resource-related decisions.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in resource management and/or business planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across varying organizational levels.
  • Experience with SAP work orders, repair notifications and asset structure hierarchy.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to appropriately identify and respond to customers, peers, management, and external stakeholders and facilitate the presentation of ideas, concepts, and technical data.
  • Experience in client consulting, including independently assessing client requirements, developing strategic action plans, defining deliverables, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience using SAS for data analysis and reporting.

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
