Responsibilities
- Support in drafting, explaining, and implementing instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing, logistics and contract management.
- Codify Supply Chain procedure to meet ISO standards. Document each process for eventual training of Supply Chain associates. Implement new Supply Chain Reporting for added value to the Organization (Daily/Weekly/Monthly).
- Tracking, reviewing and optimizing costs for production and negotiating value for R&D Materials and Consumables.
- Assisting in the implementation and upkeep of ION's assorted cost models
- Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
- Work directly with Operations and Cell R&D to forecast the purchase of Production goods. Organize the efforts of planning, purchasing and delivery of materials to meet production.
- Executing the purchasing of Contract Manufacturing Materials for Production Materials with multiple locations and reporting on efforts, both success and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, services, and acceptable substitutions.
- Assess current material availability; reasonably predict future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
- Researching and Presenting new vendors, materials & equipment, services
- Performing due diligence and new vendor management
- Soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Support company representatives in negotiations with suppliers.
- Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor suppliers and service providers for quality and performance.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
- Assist in ERP/MRP selection and implementation process.
- Develop and Implement Purchasing and Receiving section of Operations' ERP solution.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred. (Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration preferred).
- 5-7 years of Purchasing/Procurement experience.
- 3-5 Years Manufacturing Resource Planning experience.
- Knowledge of production, materials, and inventory workflow.
- Excellent organizational skills, a high attention to detail, a passion for negotiating, and the ability to think creatively about alternative solutions.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability and experience in commercial and contractual negotiations
- Must be a quick learner and computer savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Inventory Management Skills preferred.
- Strong background in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
