As the technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world, the mission of H55 is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable. Your Role
As part of the Innovation Team, you will support the rapid development of new technologies by transforming engineering concepts into physical prototypes and experimental setups.
You will work hands-on to build, assemble, and modify prototype systems, collaborating closely with engineers across multiple disciplines to enable fast iteration and validation of innovative solutions for electric aviation.
Your work will directly contribute to early-stage development and the transition from concept to validated, certifiable systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Build and assemble mechanical and electromechanical prototypes for experimental systems
- Support the development of test benches and experimental setups for early technology validation
- Manufacture prototype components using machining, fabrication, and 3D printing tools
- Assist in the integration of mechanical, electrical, and sensor components
- Modify and improve prototype systems during development and testing phases
- Troubleshoot prototype assemblies and propose practical solutions to improve performance or manufacturability
- Support laboratory testing activities and preparation of experimental hardware
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure proper organization of tools and materials
- Document prototype configurations and support iterative development cycles
Your Profile
- Technical degree or vocational training in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, prototyping, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with machining, assembly, and workshop tools
- Experience with rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing and basic fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic systems
- Practical problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workshop safety
