Become a Substation Test Senior Supervisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be part of the Substation Construction and Maintenance (SC&M) division within Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D). You will provide direct supervision of Test Technician personnel and plan and implement daily work assignments, which include capital projects, Independent System Operator (ISO) compliance inspections, and repair of electrical equipment. In addition, you will be responsible for interpreting corporate business unit policies, training, carrying out compliance of corporate safety policies, rules, and procedures as well as applying department and human resource policies and procedures in the areas of employee discipline, coaching and mentoring, staffing, and equal opportunity for bargaining unit personnel (including IBEW) under your supervision. Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, programs and performs daily work assignments in a safe and productive manner.
- Interprets, trains, and implements compliance of all corporate policies, safety rules, procedures, System Operating Bulletins, and Substation Construction and Maintenance (SC&M).
- Maintenance of SC&M Safety Strategy, including maintaining and updating Test records in SAP, and resolving labor inquiries and disputes to the Bargaining Unit Agreement.
- Researches, orders and receives materials, tools and equipment for substation maintenance, test and construction activities, including crafting capital and expense work orders for repair and replacement of substation equipment.
- Remains on-call after hours and on weekends to provide supervision, direction and dispatch Test crew and resources for substation emergencies.
- Performs accounting and tracking functions for record keeping, reports, budgets, crew training, and timekeeping.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops employees, responds to grievances, assigns training, supports change initiatives, and ensures safety compliance.
- Maintains records and provides training in the processing and handling of hazardous materials and waste as it pertains to Test activities.
- Uses computers to perform administrative duties, such as record-keeping, reports, tracking budgets and ensuring the completion of crew training.
- Crafts and maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four or more years of combined experience performing or supervising the activities related to the design, construction and maintenance, and/or scheduling activities associated with the electric systems.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience working with relay testing procedures, substation construction test methods, Substation Operation Manual (SOM), System Operating Bulletins (SOB), Accident Prevention Manual (APM), tools, vehicles, and materials.
- Experience working with project managers to develop programs for installing capital work.

- This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
