Your Missions

The Solar Specialist provides advanced engineering expertise to support renewable energy projects (Solar PV). The role ensures technical quality, coordination across stakeholders, optimization of designs and solutions, and full involvement across project phases - from development to EPC execution and O&M phases.

Operates with high autonomy and acts as internal technical leader within the Center Of Expertise for assigned projects.

Project Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the project leader inside the COE, being the main point of contact for all Solar PV engineering matters.
  • Manage and coordinate the technical scope of COE activities across engineering, development, procurement and construction workflows.
  • Lead project technical discussions inside COE, ensuring alignment with internal teams (Civil, Power Systems, SCADA and Commissioning).
  • Prepare and conduct Kick-Off Meetings (KOM) and other coordination meetings related to engineering deliverables inside COE.
  • Ensure coherence of technical actions with project timelines, scope and COE standards.

Technical Analysis & Engineering Design

  • Analyse technical documentation received (RFP/RFQ, tender packages, engineering inputs) impacting Solar PV design.
  • Perform project optimization balancing technical and economic factors.
  • Review all electrical drawings and design deliverables - ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and contribute to key technical project documents: Minimum Functional Requirements (MFR).
  • PPA technical annexes and written technical content, Owner Engineering (OE) technical requirements, technical specifications and BOQ.
  • Support the preparation of project licensing documents, revamping/repowering packages and IPP tenders.

Technical Review & Construction Support

  • Participate in contract negotiations with EPC subcontractors from a technical perspective.
  • Clarify requirements, challenge proposals and evaluate alternative engineering solutions.
  • Advise procurement teams during bid evaluations for EPC and equipment packages.
  • Receive all technical documentation from EPC subcontractors and manage the distribution internally.
  • Forward documentation to Owner's Engineering (OE) and consolidate internal reviews.
  • Validate and review EPC documentation ensuring compliance with MFR, PPA requirements, international and local standards and COE best practices of Engineering.
  • Analyse OE comments and challenge OE and EPC where misalignments or inconsistencies exist.
  • Ensure that final approved documentation meets project, technical and quality requirements.

Field Support, Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Participate in site surveys to validate design assumptions and assess constraints, if needed.
  • Support Development, Procurement, Construction, O&M and Asset Management Solar PV topics across the project lifecycle.
  • Support due diligence for acquisitions or financing (technical risks, production assumptions, layout validation).
  • Support the improvement of COE templates, engineering standards and design tools.
  • Provide guidance and support knowledge-sharing within the COE.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or equivalent (Engineering School or similar).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in photovoltaic or renewable energy projects.
  • Solid background in electrical engineering and PV system design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrotechnics and PV system engineering.
  • Proficiency in simulation and sizing tools (e.g. PVsyst, RatedPower, etc.).
  • Practical experience with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work with technical documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
