Job Description
We are modernizing how the Rates & Load Forecasting teams leverage data. This role will lead the development of scalable reporting infrastructure and automation solutions that directly support regulatory filings, rate case development, and strategic decision-making.
This position will serve as the primary architect and owner of reporting and semantic data models for the team. The ideal candidate will design and implement dimensional data models (including star schemas), establish best practices for Power BI development, and transition manual Excel-based processes into governed, automated reporting environments.
This is a senior-level role with the opportunity to define long-term analytics strategy within a regulated utility environment. The individual will collaborate with developers who manage underlying data tables while leading the design of scalable reporting structures and business-facing analytics solutions.
- Serve as the lead architect for reporting and analytics solutions supporting Rates & Load Forecasting.
- Design and implement dimensional data models (star schemas) to support scalable, high-performance Power BI reporting.
- Develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports used for regulatory analysis, rate development, and internal decision-making.
- Define and maintain semantic models, DAX calculations, and reusable reporting standards.
- Partner with existing developers to optimize underlying SQL tables and data structures for reporting use cases.
- Lead the transition of manual Excel-based processes into automated, governed reporting workflows.
- Establish data validation, reconciliation, and governance standards to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting outputs.
- Manage report deployment, refresh schedules, and access controls across development, test, and production environments.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on BI architecture and long-term reporting strategy.
- Perform ad-hoc analytical support for rate filings, load forecasts, and executive-level requests as needed.
- Document data models, transformation logic, and reporting standards to ensure maintainability and transparency.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Researches and proposes new data sources and methods of analysis
- Analyzes accuracy and effectiveness of load profiles and recommend improvements
- Identifies causes for load forecast errors outside of the target range and develop solutions to improve performance
- Develops and prepares long term and/or short term forecasting models
- Monitors and analyzes load forecast accuracy, creates transparency into drivers causing load forecast errors, and performs load forecast variance reporting
- Handles varied and complex projects and analysis
- Prepares presentations and reports for management
- Identifies and correct customers with significant load forecasting anomalies
- Leads efforts to review and validate data inputs into the long-term forecasting model and works with cross-functional teams to correct data errors in source systems
- Supports automation efforts to import all data into load forecasting system
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
