What They Do
Deftpower B.V. is a private cleantech startup focused on developing software for integrating renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy into electric vehicle (EV) charging. Their technology includes an AI-supported SaaS platform and a white-label mobile application that enables smart charging, allowing vehicles to connect with networks, energy markets, and over 2,000 charging point operators across Europe. This allows them to reduce costs by up to 20% through dynamic pricing and prepare for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functionality (source: cbinsights.com). Deftpower serves a wide range of clients, including e-mobility service providers, charging point operators, car manufacturers, energy suppliers, and grid operators, and has a platform that processes millions of transactions in 10 European countries (source: deftpower.com). Their products include a branded app for drivers that provides access to over 800,000 charging points, a business portal for electricity trading and fraud prevention, and developer APIs compatible with OCPI and ISO15118 protocols (source: deftpower.com).
Projects & Track Record
Deftpower has built an impressive track record by implementing its platform for over 40 clients managing widespread EV charging solutions. A notable project is the ongoing smart charging trial launched on May 15, 2025, in Amsterdam, designed as a potential model for global cities by optimizing grid load and renewable integration (source: cbinsights.com). Collaboration with over 40 EV brands and 2,000+ charging point operators strengthens their market position, although specific client names have not been disclosed (source: deftpower.com). Deftpower's platform is active in 10 European countries, focusing on expansion funded by their recent €12.5 million funding round (source: 4impact.vc).
Recent Developments
In the past two years, Deftpower secured €12.5 million in funding on August 29, 2025, led by Endeit Capital with participation from 4impact capital, Proeza Ventures, Rethink Mobility, and Jan Fredriks, supported by the EU's InvestEU Fund. This funding is intended to drive European expansion and AI enhancements for their platform (source: 4impact.vc). The Amsterdam smart charging trial, which began on May 15, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the practical implementation of their technology (source: cbinsights.com). So far, no acquisitions, mergers, awards, or additional certifications have been reported in the sources from 2024-2025, although CEO Jacob van Zonneveld's previous role in founding Plugsurfing (acquired by Fortum in 2018) highlights the continuity of leadership (source: vehicle-2-grid.eu).

At Deftpower, we're shaping the future of electric charging every single day. Our SaaS-platform helps businesses across Europe make charging simpler, smarter and more sustainable. With AI and intelligent software, we make sure charging works seamlessly with the energy grid, creating a greener and more stable system for everyone.
We're growing fast, thanks to a recent major investment, and there's never a dull moment! We're expanding, improving our technology. We hope our team of 85 grows to 125 by the end of this year!
About the team
You join our App team, based in Arnhem. The team builds and improves the Deftpower app used by drivers across Europe every day. We work closely with Product, Engineering and our clients to create an experience that simply works, from the moment a driver opens the app to the moment they unplug.
Right now, we know a lot is happening in the app, but we can't always see exactly what. That changes with you. There's a foundation in place, but the real work is still ahead. You'll have the space, the support and the ownership to build something from the ground up that the whole organisation will rely on.
About the role
You'll be the person the App team, our clients and our stakeholders have been waiting for! Questions about how drivers move through the app, where they drop off, what actually drives engagement, they come in constantly. Right now, nobody owns the answers. That changes with you.
There's a foundation in place, but most of the build is still ahead. You'll set up the analytics infrastructure from scratch: tagging plans, event tracking, behaviour dashboards, A/B tests. You'll translate raw behaviour data into insights that directly shape product decisions. You'll do that both internally and with our clients, who are actively asking for this kind of expertise.
This puts you at the centre of product, engineering and client relationships all at once. Your team lead has a data background themselves, so you'll have a real sparring partner from day one.
- Build and own app analytics infrastructure, including tagging plans and event tracking (e.g. GA4);
- Develop behaviour dashboards covering user flows, funnels and session performance;
- Design and execute A/B tests together with Product Owners and Engineers;
- Analyse drop-off patterns and translate friction into concrete product recommendations;
- Advise clients on what their user data means and how to act on it.
For you
You get a domain that's yours. No one looking over your shoulder telling you how to measure things, you build the standard. The questions you answer will directly influence what gets built and what gets dropped. Internally, you'll be the go-to. Externally, clients are already asking for exactly what you'll deliver.
And you'll do it inside a company that moves fast, skips the politics and gives you room to grow. Your Team Lead and the wider data team are there to support you.
To strengthen our team spirit, we host quarterly Deftpower Days (D-Day), where colleagues from Arnhem, Berlin and Sweden come together.
- Salary range between €55.000 and €75.000 a year, depending on experience.
- Holiday allowance and vacation days in line with Dutch regulations.
- Pension and long term benefits arranged according to Dutch standards.
- €2.000 training budget per year.
- Choose your own laptop up to €1.750.
- Hybrid working, short decision lines and a high level of trust.
About you
You know how to turn data into a story that actually lands, with engineers, product managers and clients alike. Numbers are your starting point, not your endpoint. You bring people to insights they wouldn't have reached on their own, and you make it look effortless. That's why you are the hero we have been waiting for!
- You have hands-on experience with app analytics: event tracking, tools like GA4, Mixpanel or Amplitude;
- You know how to set up and validate tracking together with engineering teams;
- You understand A/B testing and can advise on design, validity and interpretation;
- You're comfortable in a client-facing role and can explain complex data in plain language;
- You recognise yourself in our values: Drive, Earnest, Forward thinking and Transparency.
