Job Description

We are seeking a Power System Application Engineer with background in electrical engineering and expertise in simulation and power quality studies to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable Grid by conducting power system studies, simulations, and calculations for power supply Grid integration projects in Renewables, Data Centre and industrial sectors. Your expertise will be instrumental in conceptualizing and optimizing solutions, ensuring the right equipment's sizing and grid compliance. As an integral member of our global engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical support, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the continuous growth of our organization.

How you'll make an impact

  • Conduct Load Flow, Short Circuit, Power Quality (Power Factor & Harmonics Analysis), and Arc Flash studies using various power system modeling software.
  • Perform sizing calculations and analyze data to develop effective solutions with available products to address power system challenges.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with grid performance requirements and grid codes, as well as customer specifications and requirements.
  • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders, including sales, tendering, R&D, and product specialists.
  • Work effectively with remote teams to enhance communication and coordination in projects and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide engineering support for tenders and projects across various sectors such as industrial, renewables, data centers, and transportation.
  • Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and system modeling from the given network.
  • Perform load flow studies and short circuit analysis.
  • Conduct relay coordination studies and conduct harmonic analysis and filter design for MV and LV systems.
  • Perform capacitor and reactor sizing calculations.
  • Conduct motor starting analysis and Conduct lightning protection and insulation coordination studies.
  • Perform noise and reliability studies.
  • Prepare design basis reports and system design calculations and conceptualize engineering plans/layouts.
  • Knowledge of software such as Familiarity with design tools like ETAP, PSCAD, DIGSILENT Power Factory, MATLAB, SKM, or equivalents and national & international codes and standards is desirable.
  • Check and analyze the basic design provided by consultants to ensure it meets specifications.
  • Perform sizing calculations for equipment such as busbars, CTs, VTs, and transformers.
  • Calculate, verify, and confirm protection relay settings for various schemes.
  • Validate control and protection solutions for capacitor banks, including the selection of control equipment and protection relays.
  • Act as a technical Leader for the project, providing clarifications to clients and suggesting new ideas.
  • Collaborate with primary, secondary, FAT, commissioning, and cross functional teams internal / external (customer / End Client) to provide appropriate solutions at each stage of project.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with grid performance requirements and grid codes, as well as customer specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure the delivery of assigned projects meets set quality standards and agreed timelines.
  • Directly responsible for preparing power system analysis reports with suggestion or recommendation report / document, maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects as per the quality process.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Experience: 4-5 years with a bachelor's in engineering or 3 years with a Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
