Job Description

As a Bid Manager you will provide strategic direction and manage bid submissions in competitive tenders or auctions to secure exclusive developments rights and/or energy offtake. You will ensure the route to success is well understood plus develop a winning strategy and execute a targeted programme of work to secure success in the tenders. Your role will be complex and you will apply your commercial and technical expertise, plus harness the expertise of the project team, the global functions and partners.

Development Services APAC will be your home team comprising of regional Project Leads, Bid Managers, and other supporting functions to the management of the regional development team & portfolio. You will be assigned into project teams within a matrix organisation and work together with the respective local Offshore Development Team and partner companies. Responding to the region's pipeline your project(s) might be situated across the APAC region in addition to your home & focus market. The role is a key member of the project's Senior Management Team and typically includes external representation.

About the role

  • Build deep expertise in auction frameworks, regulations, and market rules for target regions in strong alignment and collaboration with Regulatory Affairs team in reviewing and lobbying for the regulations in the relevant area.
  • Identify bid success factors and create a balanced scorecard covering quantitative and qualitative criteria (e.g., price, deliverability, sustainability).
  • Develop bid options and tactics, and recommend a clear, internally approved winning strategy.
  • Coordinate with project teams and partners to define and execute the bid strategy and work program.
  • Identify and implement strategic levers to strengthen competitiveness and project deliverability.
  • Maximize scoring against auction criteria while evaluating trade-offs (technical, financial, localization, etc.).
  • Oversee compliant preparation and submission of all tender documentation, including pre-qualification.
  • Gather and analyze market and competitor intelligence, while capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.

Job requirements and experience

  • Fluency in English and the local market language (spoken and written).
  • Degree in business, engineering, or renewable energy with strong numerical and commercial skills.
  • Proven experience in strategy, bid/tender management, and wind project execution (offshore/onshore).
  • 5+ years in offshore wind with hands-on tender preparation and understanding of cost drivers, risks, and technical aspects.
  • Strong knowledge of auction schemes, policies, and regulatory environments in the focus market.
  • Ability to lead diverse, virtual teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • High personal drive, ownership mindset, and ability to handle multiple bids/projects under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with structured project management capabilities and continuous self-development mindset.
