A fast-growing industrial decarbonisation company with international ambitions is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support commercial growth and market expansion.

The organisation is developing a large-scale low-carbon industrial production model using renewable and low-emission hydrogen, with plans to launch its first flagship facility in Southern France through a multi-billion-euro capital investment and replicate the model across Europe and beyond.

This role will support the Commercial Director in developing emerging markets, securing future customer demand ahead of plant commissioning, and contributing to long-term commercial success.

Location: Paris, with occasional travel across France and Europe.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Specialist will help create and grow demand in a new industrial market segment, engaging customers across multiple sectors and supporting early commercial agreements.

The role combines sales execution, market development, strategic marketing, and commercial analysis, with increasing ownership of accounts and market segments over time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Identify prospective customers and new commercial opportunities.
  • Present the company's solution and value proposition to target clients.
  • Assess opportunities including:
    • volume potential
    • customer timelines

    • route-to-market
  • Prepare tailored commercial offers including pricing structures and contractual terms.
  • Lead or support commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Prepare negotiation materials, business cases, and internal approvals.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to optimise commercial offers.
  • Gradually take ownership of specific customer segments and/or key accounts.

2. Strategic Marketing

  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
  • Support refinement of market positioning and value proposition.
  • Deliver both quantitative and qualitative market insights.
  • Contribute to medium-term commercial and go-to-market strategy.
  • Help prioritise customer segments, geographies, and growth opportunities.

3. Visibility & Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare commercial materials to support fundraising, financing, and investor discussions.
  • Contribute to internal and external communication on commercial topics.
  • Support leadership presentations and strategic business updates.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.

Experience
