Job Description

What you will do

The required profile would be responsible for providing legal advice to both Finance and Energy Management business teams within EDP's Group at international level.

General responsibilities: Draft/review, negotiate and conclude contracts within required experience, including:

  1. Finance: project finance, corporate financing needs, loans and credit facilities, debt and equity financing transactions (bonds, EMTN, ECP), working capital and receivables purchase agreements, all types of guarantees and security (letter of credits, performance bonds, parent company guarantees), hedging and derivatives (ISDA, GMRA), Direct Agreements.
  2. Energy Management: physical and financial PPAs (on both, seller and buyer position), trading or financial and commodities derivative agreements (EFET, ISDA or bespoke trading structures), gas contracts (LNG), GOs or Environmental Attributes trading, H2 purchase agreements, BESS storage and optimization agreement.
  3. Ancillary documents: MoUs, Term Sheets, NDAs, PCGs, waivers, assignment, termination and services agreements.
  4. Provide legal assistance in structuring and executing all financing or energy management transactions.
  5. Provide Legal assistance in post-closing contract management matters.
  6. Identify and communicate critical project risk issues, and work within multidisciplinary teams strategies to mitigate risks.
  7. Definition, management and alignment of templates, standard clauses & guidelines for the EDP Group.
  8. Liaise with external consultants and supervise their work

What are we looking for

  1. Academic Skills:

    • Graduate Degree in law (preferred Masters level degree).
  2. Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years' international experience within international contracts and global support.
    • Post-qualification experience in international Law Firm or international company (desirable within Energy sector or at least Financial sector).
    • Experience in Finance, cross-border deals, finance structuring, securities transactions on regulatory markets and derivatives.
    • Experience in Energy Management, power purchase agreements (PPAs), energy and/or environmental attributes trading agreements and, desirable, H2 or BESS related agreements.
  3. Specific Knowledge:

    • Developed experience in international deals.
    • Experience as transactional lawyer.
    • Reviewed/drafted and negotiated any type of financial agreements.
  4. Languages:

    • Spanish - native speaker
    • English - C1 level
  5. Skills:

    • Teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.
    • Communication skills
    • Initiative and proactivity
    • Negotiation skills
