Job Description

Responsible to develop, install and maintain OT communication systems that support the operation of SPR's onshore asset portfolio.

Systems including, communication networks, radio communication systems, site communication cabinets maintenance, (UPS, ATS, PDUs, KVMs), PI data historians, API for efficient data transfer to 3rd parties. In addition to supporting C&I and SCADA teams to manage maintenance and support of site equipment.

Manage the processes including procurement, of related OT systems across the portfolio that shall provide a strong platform for the maintenance and security of the operational asset base.

Ensure strong Cyber security measures are implemented and enforced across our assets in relation to the systems detailed above working closely with C&I & SCADA teams and supporting the SPR Control Room and wider Field Operations teams. Working closely with construction team, to support Operational handover of new Windfarms for the systems detailed above.

What you'll be doing

Primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Responsible for the planning, execution and management of the maintenance program for SPR site communication cabinets.
  • Systems Expert and administrator for SPR PI historian, a critical data system used across the SPR business and connected to all SPR assets.
  • Management of the relationships with other key IT/OT stakeholders (e.g. Iberdrola, Digital Transformation, BT etc)
  • Assess and manage the current aging communication systems asset base, recommend and deliver upgrades and replacements to ensure help alleviate business and Cyber risks.
  • Manage the radio communications solution across SPR's assets that ensure effective personnel verbal communications are maintained in line with Health & safety requirements.
  • Management of the delivery of designated SPR OT and Communications projects. This requires the provision of extensive Project Management support to Operational sites and all other SPR business OT projects.
  • As part of the Systems team your will support the development strategy for the OT Systems and Infrastructure for SPR. Post approval of the strategy, assist with the management of the delivery of this across the entire business.
  • To identify and develop opportunities to optimise value and performance from all OT systems for existing and new build SPR projects.
  • Ensure delivery of work to time, budget & quality of functional & non-functional requirements.
  • Resolve issues and defects identified during testing and provide additional releases as required.
  • Recognise and support the recommended applications development methodologies and standards as determined by Cyber Resilience Team.
  • Provision any OT training requirements for SPR systems as required.

What you'll bring

  • Educated to degree level preferably in an Engineering, IT or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding / experience of IT/OT concepts, including networking/systems/application design and development/system testing and processes.
  • Understanding of complex real-time control systems.
  • Experience in the power generation sector covering an OT technical role with involvement in complex OT projects.
  • Experience in Project Management for software upgrade and development projects, as well as knowledge of working with third parties/multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong analytical, influencing and interpersonal skill, with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to operate and engage at all levels in the organisation.
  • High proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Expert Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Policy Procedural development experience.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
