Job Description
SSEN Transmission is currently recruiting for a Senior Subsea Engineer to join our HVDC Project Engineering team, supporting our growing portfolio of subsea HV cable projects. This discipline engineering role supports all offshore and nearshore design and installation engineering activities across the project lifecycle; from start of development to end of execution.
In undertaking this key role for delivery of critical national infrastructure projects, you'll be a key player in helping us achieve Net Zero.
The overriding objective for the Senior Subsea Engineer is to drive and maintain technical excellence across the offshore engineering discipline.
You will
- Provide senior level expertise and mentorship to junior members of the engineering team, challenging the status-quo with innovative thinking.
- Support engineering teams across a number of different projects, driving swift resolution of complex issues.
- Drive standardisation of Employer requirements/specifications, including implementation of technical "Lessons Learned", ensuring effective follow-up and affirmative action for the betterment of all projects.
- Promote our safety-in-design ethos and taking a leading role in identifying and managing risks pertaining to offshore and nearshore design and installation.
- Support the Engineering manager to comply with internal governance, including preparation of design and safety assurance reviews.
You have
- Minimum qualification level of BEng in a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in subsea design, engineering, and installation/construction works.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, specifications, and safe-working practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management, and organisational skills.
- Enthusiasm to provide technical team leadership towards our Net Zero ambitions.
