Job Description

As our new High Voltage Site Engineer in the Renewables Division, you will be a crucial part of our Execution & Planning Team, comprised of highly skilled and experienced power engineers. With one of the largest project portfolios in offshore substations worldwide, we are proud to be market leaders in our industry.

In this role, you will supervise teams of 5-15 members in the installation, testing, and commissioning of high voltage projects while also getting hands-on with the construction of high voltage components. You will act as the vital link between our HQ engineering team and onshore construction sites and have the exciting opportunity to develop your project management skills in an international environment.

At Semco Maritime safety is a core value, and in this role, you will contribute to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture while delivering innovative solutions. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.

The position is full-time, and you will work 5-6 days a week, on a rotating schedule.

Our construction and commissioning sites are currently based in Vietnam, Taiwan, Poland and in US. Moreover, this position requires a lot of traveling to sites, so you should expect around 150-200 travel days for work annually.

As a member of our team, you'll be working alongside a close-knit group of dedicated people who are at the forefront of the green energy transition. You'll have the exciting opportunity to work with large-scale, specialized engineered platforms, and our focus on quality and safety is unmatched,"- says Peter Carlsen, Director, Planning & Execution.

Your tasks & responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading the high voltage scope of the projects, overseeing time and budget management, and acting as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure the project's successful completion.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Working on onshore/offshore sites and carrying out HV installation and test schemes
  • Supervision of installation teams
  • Interacting with the engineering department in providing support, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues onsite
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Communicating with subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders across the project organization

Your profile & qualifications

As a person, you enjoy taking responsibility and interacting with stakeholders, while your organized and proactive approach helps you manage multiple tasks at the same time efficiently. You lead by example and foster a collaborative environment where everyone feels supported to do their best work.

Whether you come from a background as an electrician or engineer, what matters most is that you possess a safety-first mindset and share our passion for sustainable solutions.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • A technical educational background, for instance as a Marine Engineer, High voltage Technician Service Engineer, Technical Manager Offshore or Electrical/electronic engineer
  • Minimum 2-5 years hands-on experience with HV installations, such as transformers, GIS and shunt reactors
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • You're holding a working permit for DK/EU
