What They Do
Deftpower B.V. is a private cleantech startup focused on developing software for integrating renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy into electric vehicle (EV) charging. Their technology includes an AI-supported SaaS platform and a white-label mobile application that enables smart charging, allowing vehicles to connect with networks, energy markets, and over 2,000 charging point operators across Europe. This allows them to reduce costs by up to 20% through dynamic pricing and prepare for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functionality (source: cbinsights.com). Deftpower serves a wide range of clients, including e-mobility service providers, charging point operators, car manufacturers, energy suppliers, and grid operators, and has a platform that processes millions of transactions in 10 European countries (source: deftpower.com). Their products include a branded app for drivers that provides access to over 800,000 charging points, a business portal for electricity trading and fraud prevention, and developer APIs compatible with OCPI and ISO15118 protocols (source: deftpower.com).
Projects & Track Record
Deftpower has built an impressive track record by implementing its platform for over 40 clients managing widespread EV charging solutions. A notable project is the ongoing smart charging trial launched on May 15, 2025, in Amsterdam, designed as a potential model for global cities by optimizing grid load and renewable integration (source: cbinsights.com). Collaboration with over 40 EV brands and 2,000+ charging point operators strengthens their market position, although specific client names have not been disclosed (source: deftpower.com). Deftpower's platform is active in 10 European countries, focusing on expansion funded by their recent €12.5 million funding round (source: 4impact.vc).
Recent Developments
In the past two years, Deftpower secured €12.5 million in funding on August 29, 2025, led by Endeit Capital with participation from 4impact capital, Proeza Ventures, Rethink Mobility, and Jan Fredriks, supported by the EU's InvestEU Fund. This funding is intended to drive European expansion and AI enhancements for their platform (source: 4impact.vc). The Amsterdam smart charging trial, which began on May 15, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the practical implementation of their technology (source: cbinsights.com). So far, no acquisitions, mergers, awards, or additional certifications have been reported in the sources from 2024-2025, although CEO Jacob van Zonneveld's previous role in founding Plugsurfing (acquired by Fortum in 2018) highlights the continuity of leadership (source: vehicle-2-grid.eu).

The company has offices in Arnhem and Berlin, focusing on growth in EV software amid European expansion (source: deftpower.com). Job Description
At Deftpower, we're shaping the future of electric charging every single day. Our SaaS-platform helps businesses across Europe make charging simpler, smarter and more sustainable. With AI and intelligent software, we make sure charging works seamlessly with the energy grid, creating a greener and more stable system for everyone.
We're growing fast, thanks to a recent major investment, and there's never a dull moment! We're expanding, improving our technology, and teaming up with companies in over ten countries.
About the team
You join our Product Management Team, working closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Sales, Account Management and Customer Engagement. The team is spread across Arnhem and Berlin and focuses on building new smart charging products, validating market needs and strengthening relationships with key partners. Within this group, you own the user journey of EV drivers across 40+ whitelabel apps. Thousands of EV drivers use our apps every day. They charge at home, on the highway, at the office. They expect things to just work. That's your responsibility.
"I've never once looked at my watch hoping the day would be over. Everything I do feels meaningful."
Michael - Business Development Manager
About the job
You own the end-to-end EV driver experience across all our 40+ whitelabel apps, from onboarding to smart charging participation. The challenge? EV drivers have conflicting needs. Public night charging looks nothing like highway charging. You navigate that complexity and turn it into a product that feels seamless to every driver.
You spot gaps before users complain. You write clear problem statements, define success criteria and kick off new initiatives. You use Firebase Analytics and app ratings to make data-driven decisions. You manage customisation pressure from clients without losing sight of what actually matters: a consistent, high-quality driver experience.
- Navigate competing use cases: public, highway, home and smart charging
- Identify product gaps and initiate projects with sharp problem statements and success criteria
- Monitor user behaviour, app ratings and feature performance via Firebase Analytics
- Manage client expectations on customisation requests
- Keep our apps at 4.5+ and push further
