What we're looking for

Nexamp is seeking to hire an experienced service technician to join our team. You will help provide lifecycle maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Nexamp's growing portfolio of solar PV infrastructure. You will be responsible for electrical testing, troubleshooting, writing maintenance reports, tracking cases and mitigating equipment under performance. You will be field based near Joliet, IL, and will travel to Nexamp sites. This role will report into the Service Manager.

What you'll do

  • Conducts scheduled and unscheduled field maintenance.
  • Electrical troubleshooting.
  • Identifies and documents faults, specification/drawing deviations, safety violations, etc.
  • Maintains customer, partner and subcontractor relationships.
  • Maintains Nexamp equipment and assigned PPE.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of company, vendor, partner and subcontractor capabilities.
  • Sustains knowledge of emerging technologies and assists with process improvement.
  • Highly developed electrical and PV related troubleshooting skills and expertise.

What you'll bring

  • At least 4 years of experience working in the solar or renewable energy industry in a maintenance or service position
  • Electrical license preferred
  • NABCEP certification preferred
  • Driver's license in good standing required
  • OSHA certification
  • Ability to use ladders and work at heights
  • Possesses high level of understanding and technical expertise in all means and methods relating to PV commissioning, operation and troubleshooting.
  • Fully understands principles and safe operation of grid-tied, commercial PV and ancillary electrical systems.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of company, vendor, partner and subcontractor capabilities.
  • Sustains knowledge of emerging technologies and assists with process improvement.
  • Highly developed electrical and PV related troubleshooting skills and expertise.
  • Office skills including the use of computers, Microsoft Office, data acquisition systems, communications and remote computing.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, cellular, fiber and machine to machine (M2M) communications.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and procure materials and equipment when required.

Compensation

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $41.35 - $45.67 per hour. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan.
