Job Description

Responsible for implementing and maintaining all Project Controls procedures and best practices, you will guarantee all projects accomplish the mandate from the Company in relation to Business Case drivers referring to the programme, CAPEX and risks.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for setting up and managing the project controls function for complex multi-billion pound, multi-disciplinary, multi-contract projects, including project planning, cost control, risk management and resource planning.

Managing a multidisciplinary and multicultural team based at different locations across the UK and Europe, you will act as the single point of contact for all project information which is shared with Corporate functions such as PPAs, Finance and Control departments, Procurement and the Investment Office.

As the key contact person from the project on the divestment process, providing information, clarifications and acting as a coordinator to support all de-investment related activities, you will report on tasks delegated from the Project Director to different audiences which will include Senior Management and external stakeholders.

Providing ad-hoc support to the Project Director on various and different tasks which appear during project pre-FID and Execution phases such as ad-hoc profitability studies, comparison with other projects in relation to costs/programme/risk/resources/business model, contingencies assessment under various scenarios, delivery, approval and review of the Project Execution Plans. You will work as part of the Project Controls department to support the development and lessons learnt process on all relevant areas, ensuring a common approach on data analysis and reporting of the Project.

What you'll be doing

Implementing and maintaining project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, monitoring and risk management, you will be responsible for recruitment, coordination and management of a multi-functional and multi-national Project Controls team, including internal and external personnel.

Defining the Programme Baseline, FID Budget, Risk Register and Resource Plan Baseline which are used to build the Business Case taken to FID and as a reference throughout the entire Execution phase of the project, you will ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project.

Ensuring control over cost, schedule, changes and appropriate risk management by interfacing directly with the Project Director and the other project functions are actioned, you will offer advice and consultation on the application of effective planning and control techniques and procedures (cost and schedule variance, integrated master schedules, feed changes, estimates at completion, critical path analysis).

Implementing and ensuring monitoring and control of the programme, cost control processes to report on estimates, expenditures and cost commitments accurately, you will be responsible for the overall project risk and change management which includes defining, implementing and ensuring monitoring and control of the risks and changes in budget and programme.

Responsible for preparing and reviewing project reports which provide details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances, schedule updates and overall project dashboards, you will also define and follow-up resources needed to develop the project from the Pre-FID phase to its hand-over to the O&M (Operations & Maintenance) team.

Creating and maintaining an updated Organisation Chart based on the Project Resource Plan, showing the necessary structure to successfully manage and deliver the project, you will provide support with the organisation of project events and team building activities, ensuring the project team is working effectively as a team and are familiar with project status.

What you'll bring

Educated to Master Degree in Engineering or Business Management, or Degree qualified with equivalent qualifications and experience, you will possess previous experience in Project Controls for Offshore Wind projects, Project Management (ideally in Planning, Cost Control and/or Risk Management) with knowledge of advanced planning and scheduling practices, being proficient in cost and progress management for Offshore Wind projects.

Proficient in Change management, you will be experienced with Cost Management, implementing control dashboards and managing a large multi-national and multi-functional team.

With experience in divestment processes, you will have the ability to manage projects with several partners or joint ventures.

You will be an expert user of relevant Project Controls applications, including MS Office (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint), Primavera P6 and SAP.
