About the role
Reporting to the Head of Technology - C&I & E&I, the Tech Lead for C&I is responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of technology services within the Commercial & Industrial technology landscape.
Leading a small, high‑performing team, you will bring a strong continuous improvement mindset, working to align the C&I technology stack with broader AGL processes and governance. This role acts as a critical bridge between the C&I business, your technology team, and the wider AGL Technology function - partnering closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver fit‑for‑purpose technology solutions that support C&I's strategic objectives.
You will also play a critical role in the upcoming Technology Transformation Program for C&I, supporting delivery and providing subject matter expertise on the program.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of C&I technology services across plan, build and run, including ongoing support and maintenance
- Partner closely with the C&I business to understand requirements and enable strategy through technology
- Support applications and technology architecture roadmap planning for the C&I portfolio
- Supports the delivery of the Technology Transformation Program for C&I.
- Drive continuous improvement across the C&I technology environment, including security, deployment quality, observability and environment rationalisation
- Standardise C&I technology processes and practices in alignment with broader AGL technology governance
- Lead and develop a high‑performing technology team, supporting capability uplift, knowledge sharing and team continuity
- Manage and report on C&I technology capex and opex, while overseeing supplier performance and delivery
What You'll Bring
- Experience in an Engineering Lead, Technical Practice Lead or similar senior technical role
- Strong people leadership capability, with experience leading and developing technical teams
- Demonstrated business partnering skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- A strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and modern technology practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisations
- A passion for emerging technologies and how they can enable strategic business outcomes
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite (preferred) and vendor/supplier engagement
