You will play an important role in

As a Hydro Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of hydroelectric generator systems. With the mentorship of an experienced Hydro Operator, your main tasks will be:

  • Practice safe work habits and follow correct safety policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that company personnel, contractors, and consultants are following company approved safety policies, procedures, and that company property is protected by performing the applicable duties;
  • Perform station and unit operations as required;
  • Identify and repair as necessary, station hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems including analytical problem solving/troubleshooting;

To succeed in this position, you need

  • Experience with repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and related equipment is preferred as follows: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics, PLC troubleshooting and programming;
  • High voltage transmission and distribution training and experience;
  • Working knowledge of the OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and Arc Flash requirements;
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required;
  • Flexibility to add skills and work in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Be able and willing to perform physical labor as needed;
  • Knowledge of windows based software including Outlook, Excel, Word;
  • Valid driver's license with clean record required;
