Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and facilities, ensuring their optimal operation to maintain the operational continuity of manufacturing processes.
The Maintenance Technician performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagnostics, repairs, and adjustments on production equipment and general services. Additionally, they support the implementation of new equipment, improvements to existing machinery, and compliance with established maintenance programs, contributing to the achievement of production, safety, and quality objectives.

In this role, the Maintenance Technician will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with the established plan.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or control failures and perform the necessary repairs.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and validation of new production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities performed and the use of spare parts.
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of tools and measuring equipment.
  • Comply with the safety, quality, and environmental procedures established by the organization.
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering departments to resolve technical issues affecting equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and energy efficiency programs.
  • Report any deviations or unsafe conditions detected during work in a timely manner.
  • Maintain order, cleanliness, and safety in the work area (5S).

Required Skills

  • Programming knowledge in PLCs
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic and electricity

  • Diagnosis and repair of industrial machinery.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams.

Required Experience

* Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Mechatronics and/or position experience
* 2 to 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance (preferably in the manufacturing industry).
* Solid knowledge of industrial electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
* Experience interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desirable.
