We are seeking an experienced Electrician who takes pride in her/his work and wants to join our growing, mission-driven team. In this role, you will work as part of an installation crew, based in Kingston, NY and will be responsible for overseeing electrical work on solar installations.
Your Responsibilities as an Electrician
- Install photovoltaic (PV) systems
- Interconnect Inverter and other AC components
- Install module array interconnect wiring, implementing measures to disable arrays during installation
- Test and commission equipment
- Program, adjust, or configure inverters and controls
- Perform routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment
- Activate photovoltaic (PV) systems
- Communicate effectively with customers and staff regarding the status of each job
About You (Requirements)
- NY Electrical License *rate of pay is based on license and experience
- Experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Up-to-date knowledge of electrical code and solar installation technology
- Ability to travel throughout the Hudson Valley to perform installations
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Commitment to SunCommon's purpose and vision
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, both inside and outside.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
