We are seeking a capable and safety-focused individual to support our Major Overhauls Team in the Murray region as a Hydro Maintainer. This role involves a diverse range of maintenance, operations, and contributes to the upkeep and improvement of our generating plant and auxiliary equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain the highest standard of health and safety performance by implementing a personal safety plan and exhibiting behaviors consistent with zero tolerance. You will lead by example with colleagues and team members, acting in accordance with SHL policies.
- Maintenance: Work with trades people to support routine, corrective, and breakdown maintenance and overhaul activities on generating plant, auxiliary plant, outlying equipment, and structures. Contribute to the monitoring of plant by identifying, reporting, and repairing defects. Operate plant such as cranes, trucks, and other heavy equipment, where appropriately authorised, maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Plant Improvements and Administration: Support the installation, overhauls, and testing of generating plant, auxiliary, outlying equipment, and structures.Participate in the mechanical aspects of commissioning/recommissioning following equipment maintenance. Use the Maintenance Management System for tasks such as ordering parts/spares, updating job requests, and recording data. Establish constructive working relationships across Regional Operations teams.
About the location
This is a full time, 100% site based role, working a 9 day fortnight and is based in Khancoban.
About you
- Experience in mobile plant operation with licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogman, Rigging, High Risk Work and HR Licence.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Google suite and Maintenance Management Systems
- Good communication skills
- Capability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well within a well established team that has a strong focus on Snowy Hydros' values of Safety, Teamwork, Ownership, Agility, Decency and Courage
