Job Description

Obras Vila Real department is looking for an Electrical Distribution Operations Engineer.

What you will do

  • Support to budgeting, awarding, commissioning, and works closure processes (SIT/JUMP/Mobility), including on-site follow-up,
  • Document analysis and preparation of LV, PL, and MV Line Design Projects, ensuring project licensing and compliance with E‑REDES technical standards and internal procedures,
  • Supervision of the implementation of new Medium Voltage telecontrol points (TCMT),
  • Identification and proposal of new network developments and investments in Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and Public Lighting,
  • Handling and monitoring of Grid Connection Requests (PLR) in LV and MV, ensuring compliance with deadlines and following the process from the initial phase through to closure,
  • Support to the operational management of activities,
  • Updating statuses and information in internal systems,
  • Supporting process workflows,
  • Compiling data for operational dashboards and calculation of operational performance indicators,
  • Preparing supporting information for follow-up meetings,
  • Responding to requests and complaints from customers, external entities, or internal departments, ensuring timely, well-founded actions aligned with current procedures,
  • Ongoing coordination with service providers and other involved areas, contributing to process fluidity, deadline compliance, and information quality,
  • Ensuring that safety procedures are consistently followed by both the internal team and partners, carrying out regular site visits and inspections.

What are we looking for

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Energy is an asset),
  • Strong ability to simultaneously manage multiple operational situations in Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and Public Lighting,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and collaborative tools (mandatory),
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to manage teams and prioritize activities,
  • Solid knowledge of the electrical grid structure, associated technologies, and their operation,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines,
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards applicable to Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and Public Lighting operations,
  • Availability to travel for work, within and outside normal working hours, in the Vila Real operational area (mandatory),
  • Professional experience in the field of distribution networks (an asset),
  • Geographical proximity to the operational area (Vila Real district) will be considered an asset.
