Job Description

Belonging to the O&M Contracts Department, UK and reporting to the Lead Contracts Manager, you will assist in defining and implementing contracting and warranty management strategies for one or more offshore windfarms transitioning from Construction into Operations & Maintenance. The responsibilities include identifying, assessing and creating procedures, to support site functions; and managing contractual & commercial risks and seeking out opportunities to optimise and drive the performance of the service supplier contracts.

This role has end-to-end accountability for the commercial, contractual and warranty management of offshore O&M service contracts and major OEM warranties, ensuring defects are properly identified, evidenced, notified and remedied in line with contractual and warranty provisions, while protecting value and operational availability throughout the warranty period and beyond.

The role will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, Technical Authorities, Legal, Insurance, Finance and Procurement teams to manage contractual and warranty risk, drive contractor and OEM performance, and support the effective handover of assets from Construction to Operations and achieving optimum operational availability throughout the O&M phase.

Working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world, with frequent travel to various locations within the UK. The role requires the individual to project manage multi-disciplinary teams in different project locations in UK and Europe.

What you'll be doing

As Senior Contract and Warranty Manager, you'll have a variety of responsibilities including:

Contracts and Commercial Management

  • Supporting the Site and technical teams with the negotiation and management of contracts for the Offshore O&M Services.
  • Contract budget management including processing of applications for payment and invoicing.
  • Facilitating the contractual and commercial implementation of contracts including reporting and other contractual deliverables. This will include undertaking detailed contract reviews and advising on how to interpret and apply key contract provisions on the day-to-day operational clauses of the contract.
  • Assisting in developing mitigation strategies in line with the contract terms, this will include proactively providing recommendations and advice on how to avoid any additional cost and, where this is not possible, how to minimize the costs of legitimate claims.
  • Supporting in negotiations of claims and variations with contractors including the preparation of notes of advice and commercial drafting.
  • Advising on key commercial risks from an O&M perspective for supply contracts on emerging projects.
  • Ensuring SPR best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and interfacing with key company functions such as Purchasing, Insurance, Financial, Legal, e delivery of the project's interests in negotiating with the contractors; etc.

Warranty and Defect Management

  • Own and actively manage the end-to-end warranty lifecycle for offshore wind assets post-handover, including foundations, cables, onshore and offshore converter stations, balance of plant and associated systems.
  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of a structured warranty management process, including defect categorisation, notification processes, evidencing requirements, tracking and resolution.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure that defects and faults are technically understood, contractually compliant, and notified in accordance with the contractual conditions governing defect notification process and period.
  • Lead commercial and contractual engagement with OEMs and suppliers to secure timely, compliant and durable warranty remedies.
  • Support Construction and Project teams during handover to ensure warranty positions are protected, residual risks are understood and latent defects appropriately managed.
  • Interface with Insurance and Legal teams where warranty failures escalate into claims or recovery actions.
  • Monitor warranty performance metrics and provide clear reporting on exposure, recoveries, risks and trends.
  • Proactively challenge OEMs and contractors where warranty obligations are not being met, balancing operational realities with protection of long-term asset value.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the commercial and warranty authority within O&M, supporting senior stakeholders with risk-based advice and recommendations.
  • Ensure company best practices, governance standards and procedures are consistently applied across contract and warranty management.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement, influencing warranty and contracting strategies for future offshore projects.

What you'll bring

You will bring experience in contractual, commercial and warranty management within an engineering-led environment, ideally offshore wind.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Contract Management, or a commercially-oriented discipline.
  • Strong technical understanding of offshore wind assets, enabling engagement with Engineering teams and OEMs on defect causation and warranty scope.
  • Experience in managing warranty claims, defect resolution and supplier negotiations.
  • Highly developed commercial judgement, negotiation, risk management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence to challenge suppliers and OEMs at a senior level using both contractual and technical arguments.
  • A proactive, decisive and self-driven approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex operational environment.
  • You will be comfortable working across multiple projects and locations, maintaining focus on delivery, quality and value protection to support safe, efficient operation and maintenance of SPR offshore windfarms.
