Ever since we started in 2007, Sunrun has been at the forefront of connecting people to the cleanest energy on Earth. It's why we've become the #1 home solar and battery company in America. Today, we're on a mission to change the way the world interacts with energy, and we're building a company and brand that puts power at the center of life.
The team is on site in San Francisco, CA and we are also open to candidates within 35 miles of our Lehi, UT Corporate office.
We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic, and exceptionally strong strategist and writer to join us as aContent Marketing Manager and help shape how we tell this story. In this role, you won't just manage a high-level strategy from afar, you will be a key storyteller, a custodian of our brand voice, and a hands-on creator.
You are a versatile, fast-moving thinker who can easily shift from working with stakeholders to understand and solve business challenges to crafting high-converting landing page copy, engaging social threads, and nurture email sequences. As a key member of the Brand and Product team, you will own the end-to-end content lifecycle: from brainstorming and research to writing, self-editing, and cross-channel distribution. You will collaborate closely with Growth, Product, and Sales teams to build an integrated content ecosystem that turns leads into loyal customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborative strategy: Partner with leaders across the company to identify, prioritize, and plan content needs that support product launches, active campaigns, and key demand generation goals.
- Multi-channel content creation: Write, draft, and develop high-quality content tailored for diverse channels, including video scripts, sales one-pagers, customer-facing collateral, landing page and app copy that educates and converts.
- Cross-functional production: Collaborate closely with internal design and video production teams to guide creative assets from initial copy draft to polished, final delivery.
- Strategic distribution: Oversee and execute the distribution of content through the most effective and appropriate channels to reach our target audiences.
- Performance analysis: Track, measure, and analyze the performance of published content, using data-driven insights to refine our ongoing content strategy.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of professional writing experience in a content marketing, copywriting, journalism, or agency role.
- Technical acumen & curiosity: You possess a strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, whether it's solar technology, battery storage systems, or home energy management, and translate them into clear, compelling benefits for homeowners.
- Proven track record of full-funnel content creation: You have a diverse, published portfolio displaying range, from long-form educational pieces to snappy social copy and high-converting landing pages. You write with clarity, punch, and absolute authority, ruthlessly self-editing out fluff.
- Experience tying content to growth metrics: You understand that great writing must serve a business goal. You have experience owning KPIs tied to lead generation, conversions, or revenue (not just vanity traffic metrics).
- Tech & AI literacy: Comfortable using CMS platforms and leveraging modern AI productivity tools to accelerate your research and outlining workflow without sacrificing the original, human quality of the final copy.
Why This Role Matters
Content at our company is not about filling a content calendar or chasing empty page views, it is a core engine for our business growth. In this role, your words will directly influence how the market understands our category and products.
By producing sharp, high-credibility, and engaging content, you will play a critical role in unlocking new acquisition channels, accelerating customer conversion, highlighting product innovation, and directly driving revenue. You will turn complex, technical concepts into compelling narratives that captivate decision-makers, giving our brand a distinctive, authoritative voice in a crowded landscape.
