In this role as Technical Support Expert (f/m/d) - Energy Storage Systems (ESS), you will serve as the final escalation point for complex technical challenges across our ESS portfolio. You'll ensure system reliability, drive customer satisfaction, and proactively prevent future issues by turning field insights into scalable improvements. Your IMPACT

  • Lead root cause analysis for escalated issues involving high power electronics, control logic, and embedded software‑cause analysis for escalated issues involving high‑power electronics, control logic, and embedded software
  • Troubleshoot system level problems across PCS, BMS, and control units‑level problems across PCS, BMS, and control units
  • Diagnose integration issues with cloud platforms, EMS controllers, and third-party systems via LAN or Modbus‑party systems via LAN or Modbus
  • Serve as main technical bridge between European support teams and global R&D for ESS topics
  • Ensure all support activities meet established SLAs
  • Monitor ESS fleet performance to identify systemic issues early and prevent escalations
  • Analyse support data to uncover recurring faults, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Act as ESS Subject Matter Expert by developing and maintaining technical documentation and Knowledge Base content
  • Mentor L2 support engineers to strengthen team capability

Your Profil

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, automation, or a related technical field
  • Experience in L2/L3 technical support, field service, or engineering roles within ESS, PCS/inverter, or large-scale UPS environments
  • Solid understanding of battery technologies, BMS logic, and AC/DC power conversion and familiarity with high-voltage DC systems and 400V AC grid integration
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, LAN/IP) and cloud-based monitoring platforms
  • High-voltage safety certification or training is considered a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with a fluency in English; additional proficiency in German, French or Chinese is an asset
  • Valid EU driving license and willingness to travel (less than 10%)
