Asbury Park, NJ, United States

2012

Approximately 300 employees (source: growjo.com). Revenue estimates for 2025 range from $23.5 million to $154.7 million (source: rocketreach.co).

What They Do

Solar Landscape is a privately held commercial rooftop solar developer that specializes in community solar models. The company focuses on leasing rooftops from real estate owners, allowing them to develop installations with zero capital expenditure for their partners. This innovative approach enables surrounding households, particularly those that are low- or moderate-income, to subscribe for discounted power, thereby promoting energy equity and sustainability (source: solarlandscape.com). Their vertically integrated services encompass engineering, permitting, procurement, construction (EPC), interconnection, asset management, and operations, which allows for rapid scaling without tenant disruption (source: solarlandscape.com). Target customers include some of the world's largest commercial real estate owners, such as Prologis and Public Storage, collectively managing over 2 billion square feet of property (source: solarlandscape.com).

Projects & Track Record

Since its inception, Solar Landscape has completed over 350-400 projects totaling between 313-800 MW. Notable projects include New Jersey's first year-two Community Solar Pilot project at an Extra Space Storage facility in Neptune, which is part of a larger initiative involving 10 projects with the firm. Additionally, they have energized 50 community solar projects totaling 60 MW, serving nearly 10,000 households and generating approximately $2 million in annual bill savings (source: solarlandscape.com). Their ongoing efforts include leasing 40 million square feet for 500 MW in 2024, which will power around 80,000 households, and a multi-state partnership with Public Storage that serves over 10,000 households across Illinois, Maryland, and New Jersey (source: solarlandscape.com). With a robust pipeline of over 1 GW from more than 100 million square feet leased, Solar Landscape is well-positioned for future growth (source: solarlandscape.com).

Recent Developments

In the past two years, Solar Landscape has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the Americas by the Financial Times, being one of only eight U.S. energy firms to receive this accolade. They were also named in Inc. Magazine’s Best in Business for 2024 and recognized as a Top Workplace by USA TODAY for 2025 based on employee surveys (source: solarlandscape.com). The company announced plans to hire over 100 new employees in 2024 to support their growth and to build an additional 100 MW of solar capacity, which will serve 20,000 subscribers (source: solarlandscape.com). They have also expanded their headquarters to 17,000 square feet in Asbury Park and secured multi-state contracts with Public Storage, further solidifying their market position (source: solarlandscape.com).

Working There

Solar Landscape offers a diverse range of roles across various departments, including engineering, business development, finance, legal, community engagement, project management, construction, and asset management. As of recent expansions, there are over 40 roles open, particularly at their headquarters in Asbury Park, which features a state-of-the-art facility with an in-house chef providing daily locally-sourced lunches (source: solarlandscape.com). The company has been recognized for its positive workplace culture, receiving accolades such as the USA TODAY 2025 Top Workplaces award, which reflects employee satisfaction and engagement (source: solarlandscape.com). Additionally, they emphasize local hiring and community ties, which are integral to their operational philosophy and growth strategy (source: njbiz.com).
