About the role
AGL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager - VIC Wind (12-Month Fixed Term) to join our Renewables team, leading the performance of our Victorian wind portfolio and helping deliver reliable, safe and efficient energy generation.
Location: This role is based in our Melbourne corporate office, with regular engagement across wind assets, working closely with operations, engineering, market operations and service providers to ensure strong asset performance, reliability and commercial outcomes.
You'll be part of a high-impact leadership team responsible for maximising wind asset performance while embedding operational excellence across safety, reliability and financial performance - aligned to AGL's values of Bring on tomorrow, Can Do. Will Do., Be Safe. Be Supportive.
What you will be doing
As the Operations & Maintenance Manager - VIC Wind, you will lead the operational performance of AGL's wind assets, ensuring safe, reliable and commercially optimised delivery aligned to business targets.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team to drive strong safety, operational and financial outcomes across the wind portfolio
- Embedding excellence in operations and maintenance practices across in???house and service provider teams
- Managing plant availability, reliability and performance through effective operational strategies and maintenance coordination
- Overseeing safe operational activities in line with asset management plans, including outage planning, permitting and high voltage switching coordination
- Partnering with internal stakeholders (engineering, markets, finance, HSE, P&C) to optimise performance and resolve operational issues
- Driving financial performance by managing key revenue and cost drivers across the portfolio
- Monitoring and reporting on operational, technical, safety and financial performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders
- Identifying and managing operational risks, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
- Leading engagement with external stakeholders including regulators, asset owners, suppliers and local communities
- Ensuring strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) leadership and compliance across all wind operations
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong leadership capability across large-scale operations, combined with deep experience in asset performance, safety and stakeholder engagement.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing large-scale plant operations, ideally within power generation or renewables
- Strong capability in asset management, including maintenance strategy, operational systems and performance optimisation
- Experience managing contracts, service providers and operational delivery across complex portfolios
- Strong understanding of financial drivers, risk management and performance metrics in an operational environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders across technical, commercial and leadership teams
- Knowledge of regulatory, compliance and safety frameworks within energy or industrial operations environments
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and environmental compliance
