Job Description
As a Trainee Drawing Office Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting the design and delivery of vital energy infrastructure projects across our network. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll gain hands-on experience in producing and maintaining technical drawings that help keep our projects on track.
This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in a specialist technical environment, where you'll learn from experienced professionals and develop the skills needed to support the transition to a low carbon future.
Your work will directly contribute to projects that enable renewable energy connections and help drive progress towards Net Zero.
What you'll be doing
You'll support the creation and updating of technical drawings using industry-standard software, helping to ensure designs are accurate, consistent and aligned with project requirements. And you'll work closely with engineers and project teams to understand design changes and reflect these within drawings and documentation.
You'll also assist in managing drawing records, maintaining version control and ensuring all documentation is stored accurately within our systems. And as you build your knowledge, you'll develop an understanding of engineering standards, health and safety requirements, and how high-quality drawings support safe and efficient project delivery.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in engineering, design or construction, and who's keen to build a long-term career in a technical environment. Ideally, you'll have:
- Electrical or Civil Engineering HNC/HND preferred, Architectural / CAD considered.
- Driving Licence preferrable
You'll be detail-focused and methodical, able to plan your workload and manage your time effectively. You'll also enjoy working as part of a team, communicating clearly and asking questions to support your learning and development.
