American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.
As Analytical Services Technician the incumbent is responsible for routine collection and processing of QC samples of a variety of recycled battery materials from ABTC's proprietary lithium ion battery recycling process. The incumbent must be able to work independently and within teams to ensure materials are collected in a timely and consistent manner and all associated sample data are recorded. He/she must follow Standard Operating Procedures and be open to mentoring and work with laboratory, operations, and engineering personnel to develop new procedures as needed.
Requirements
- Carry out routine QC sample collection of recycled products (black mass, metal fractions) generated by operations throughout the day
- Work with lab staff to prepare samples for chemical analysis
- Document and report all sample collection and submission information promptly
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a technical role in a laboratory or manufacturing quality control setting
- Experience with analytical equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Support and enforce strict adherence to industrial hygiene and safety standards
Physical Demands
- Positional demands of the job such as standing at sample processing and analytical instrumentation on benchtops and in chemical fume hoods as well as sitting at computer workstations processing analytical data.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling activities required to move laboratory equipment and consumables such as instrumentation, compressed gas cylinders, and dewars.
- Ability to operate battery powered drills and other hand tools in the course of sample collection.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including N95 respirators, Tyvek suits, and safety gloves.

Expected Pay Range
$20/hr - $35/hr
Compensation for this position may vary based on a number of individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package may also include additional components such as bonus, equity, and benefits, which will be detailed upon offer of employment.
