Job Description
Deutsche Windtechnik is the world's No. 1 independent operations and maintenance service provider for on- & offshore wind farms, executing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on all assets of a wind farm. We operate worldwide in 10 countries with over 2,100 employees in total and since 2018 our first Asian entity and APAC hub in Taiwan started. We want to be a major part of Taiwan's renewable energy journey and we need you in our growing team.
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Taipei, with irregular travel required to Taichung and other project locations. It will be a permanent employment contract with 40 working hours per week (Mo-Fr), 8h per day. Start at the earliest possible date.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any engineering discipline, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading onshore or offshore substation projects or similar projects and project management, ideally within the wind energy, power industry, or maritime sector.
- Independent, structured, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage complex project requirements, risks, and costs within established timelines.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently and efficiently with stakeholders.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
- Able to quickly adapt to changing project requirements and priorities; open to business travel as required
- Preference for local Taiwanese candidates.
Your Tasks
- Oversee O&M projects for offshore wind farms, with a focus on both onshore and offshore substations, ensuring that cost, quality, and milestone requirements are met.
- Candidates with relevant onshore and offshore substation experience will be given priority.
- The Project Manager may eventually take on additional scope (e.g., TP or subsea scope) after becoming familiar with the main scope (Substation).
- Lead the project team, define key guidelines, allocate tasks, and motivate and monitor both internal and external resources to meet project objectives and milestones.
- Manage project budgets and cash flow, including invoicing status, costs tracking and expenses.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, while actively identifying and pursuing opportunities. Capture, analyze, and share lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure formal project close-out in accordance with contractual agreements and lead the project's formal acceptance and contract closure, ensuring customer acknowledgment.
- Lead the project team in defining, planning, implementing, and controlling work packages in coordination with relevant departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project.
- Manage both internal and external interfaces, including clients and third-party stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and track project schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Report project progress, milestones, and results to both the customer and internal senior management.
- Evaluate the performance of project team members, including on-site and office-based staff, and provide regular feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Actively share lessons learned and best practices, and lead improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and work processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines throughout the project.
- Work closely with the Technical Support and Site Execution teams to ensure the successful preparation and execution of engineering documents.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely and successful acquisition of services, materials, tools, and equipment from both internal and external suppliers.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations, procedures, and guidelines, with support from the legal team and internal stakeholders.
