Job Description
The ROC Operations Analyst 1 position is responsible for safely operating a fleet of photovoltaic solar power plants owned by Strata Clean Energy and 3rd party customers. The schedule is rotating including both night shifts, day shifts, and weekends with some holidays to support the 24/7 operation all year long. Main duties include fault evaluation, alarm handling, ticketing, and support of field teams. Specific knowledge or work experience relating to solar operation is not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors plant performance, evaluates faults, and creates work orders (tickets)
- Provides logistical and technical support for on-site teams, grid operators, and customer account representatives.
- Develops safe switching orders that help energize or de-energize components within a power plant.
- Engages vendors when necessary to support efficient and successful operation.
- Troubleshoots remote data acquisition system components and network infrastructure (meters,sensors, etc.)
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Ability to work 12 hours per day, covering some holidays, in our Durham, NC headquarters.
- 2-year degree or 2 years toward a 4-year degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics preferred).
- Ability to work in a team environment and support field technicians.
- Strong organizational skills necessary to document and track issues from inception to resolution.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
- Completion of PV100/200 Series (bonus).
- Coursework in Power Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Energy, or related field (bonus).
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds.
