Job Summary
The Distribution Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding Canadian Solar's distribution business throughout Central America and the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic and surrounding island markets.
This is a highly visible, field-oriented role focused on developing new business opportunities, expanding strategic channel partnerships, and increasing market share throughout the region. The successful candidate will work closely with distributors, EPCs, installers, and other key market participants to create pull-through demand and accelerate growth.
We are seeking a self-directed hunter who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and developing new business. The ideal candidate possesses strong industry relationships, a deep understanding of the solar distribution landscape, and the ability to translate those relationships into measurable business results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a distribution growth strategy across Central America and the Caribbean.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new distribution partners throughout the region.
- Expand Canadian Solar's presence and market share within existing distribution accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor owners, purchasing teams, sales leadership, and key decision-makers.
- Create pull-through demand by engaging EPCs, installers, developers, and other channel influencers.
- Develop territory plans focused on new business acquisition and long-term channel growth.
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and territory planning.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence to support business strategy.
- Represent Canadian Solar at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings throughout the region.
- Collaborate with internal sales, operations, marketing, and product teams to support customer success and business growth.
- Travel approximately 50% throughout Central America and the Caribbean.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the solar industry.
- Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of developing new business.
- Strong existing relationships within the solar distribution ecosystem throughout Central America and/or the Caribbean.
- Experience working with solar distributors and channel partners.
- Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities.
- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of distribution sales models, territory development, and channel growth strategies.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively, and across multiple cultures and countries.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60% throughout the region.
The pay range for this position is $35,000 - 45,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
