The Role
As our first Head of Installation & Service, you will own the end-to-end post-sale experience for our customers. That means getting our DOAS units from the factory floor to the rooftop safely, on time, and without drama, then making sure they stay running once they are there.
This is a builder role. You'll create the processes, checklists, and playbooks that will define how we operate at scale. You'll work closely with our sales, engineering, and operations teams and will be the connective tissue between a customer's signed order and a humming, commissioned unit on their rooftop. You will create relationships with field service technicians and establish Transaera's service roadmap.
What You'll Own
Delivery & Logistics
- Coordinate the full logistics chain from factory to rooftop installation site, acting as the primary point of contact for our customers to coordinate all aspects of the installation including permitting, certifications and commissioning
- Build and manage relationships with local installation contractors and other required vendors to build out standard work for Transaera's installations
- Develop and maintain installation documentation including rigging diagrams, quick start guides, commissioning checklists and training materials
- Track every active unit delivery on a project-by-project basis and proactively resolve blockers to ensure on-time delivery and installation
- Own delivery timelines and communicate status to customers and internal stakeholders
Service & Repair Coordination
- Be the first point of escalation for service and repair requests from customers
- Triage incoming service tickets, dispatch technicians or third-party service partners, and manage resolution to completion
- Build a reliable network of qualified HVAC service partners across key geographies or stand up national service networks to maintain and ensure uptime of Transaera's equipment
- Establish spare parts pool and create a logistics plan for spare parts disposition and installation where needed
- Maintain a service history database and use it to spot repeat issues and drive product feedback
- Define and own SLAs for response and resolution times
Process & Systems
- Stand up the tools, workflows, and dashboards we need to track jobs from order to commissioning
- Work cross-functionally with engineering to relay field issues that surface product improvement opportunities
- Help build our customer-facing documentation: installation guides, startup checklists, service manuals
- As the team grows, help hire and onboard field operations coordinators and support staff
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of experience in operations, project management, or field services; ideally coordinating physical product delivery or construction-adjacent work
- Strong project management instincts: you keep projects on track, communicate early when things go sideways, and never let a deadline surprise anyone
- Startup DNA: you're comfortable with ambiguity, willing to roll up your sleeves, and energized by building things that don't exist yet
- Excellent vendor and contractor management skills, you know how to get the best out of external partners
- Clear, direct communicator with customers, subcontractors, and internal teammates
Bonus Points
- Experience in HVAC, MEP, or commercial building systems
- Familiarity with commissioning processes for mechanical equipment
- Experience working with commercial real estate, facilities management, or building operations teams
Why Join Us
- Ground-floor opportunity to define a critical function at a fast-growing startup
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity in a VC-backed company
- Work directly with founders, executives and have a real seat at the table
- Mission-driven work to help bring about a revolution in HVAC technology
